WHEN ZOMBIES ATTACK!: MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF AN OUTBREAK OF ZOMBIE INFECTION


So I saw someone post this on metafilter and I thought I would share.

So here is a fun mathematical/statistical paper about zombie plague scenarios from a University in Canada. The paper goes through the mathematical model of outbreak with the additional caveat of "The key difference between the models presented here and other models of infectious disease is that the dead can come back to life. Clearly, this is an unlikely scenario if literally, but possible real-life applications may include allegiance to political parties, diseases with a dormant infection."

What I think is great is that they go through the unchecked rampant scenario, the quarantine scenario, the cure scenario, and finally my favorite... the Impulsive Eradication Scenario (Think Left 4 Dead).
